Chef Joel's culinary inspiration began as a child, when he met a private French chef from Normandy. He began cooking with this chef at the age of 16, eventually becoming his Sous Chef, and then Head Chef of the company. Prior to joining Cater to You in 2008, Joel spent 14 years cooking and catering for private and corporate clients, including the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

If you attend any parties at The Nightingale-Bamford  School, you will also see his incredible expertise in plating, efficiency, and his warm personality. Joel enjoys working with The Nightingale-Bamford School community. He loves the team spirit in the kitchen and the chance to make students and faculty happy every day.

At home, Chef Joel makes everything from scratch. His specialties are panko-crusted crab cakes with a chili mayo,  marinades, and seared herb chicken with pomme macaire (shredded potato pie). When Joel is not cooking, he loves to travel and spend time with his wife and family.
